What I Believe
Updated: May 7, 2019
Theology matters. We hear so much about whether or not people believe, but the question really isn't whether or not one believes, but rather what he/she believes. Likewise, it's also not about how much we believe, or the fervency of our beliefs that matter, rather it is the content or substance of our beliefs that is important. Faith is only as good as the object in which it is placed.
AW Tozer once said, "What comes to mind when we think about God, is the most important thing about us." Below is what I believe in regards to some of the core teachings of Christianity. Feel free to contact me with any questions, or if you'd like to challenge anything here, I would welcome that as well. You can comment below or email me at email@example.com.
What I Believe about the Scriptures
I believe that the Scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, that they are inerrant in the original writings and that they are the supreme and final authority of all Christian faith and life.
2 Timothy 3:16,17
2 Peter 1:20,21
What I Believe about God
I believe in one God, Creator of all things, perfect and Holy, eternally existing in three equal yet distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
What I Believe about Jesus Christ
I believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man in one person and that he eternally exists with the Father. He came to Earth having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He led a sinless life and died on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of humanity. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of Father He is our Prophet, Priest, and King.
1 Corinthians 15:3,4
1 John 2:1,2
What I Believe about the Holy Spirit
I believe the Holy Spirit is fully God. The work of the Holy Spirit is to manifest the active and personal presence of God in the world and especially in the church. The Holy Spirit glorifies God, convicts unbelievers of sin, cleanses believers from sin, indwells, guides, instructs and unifies believers for godly living and service.
What I Believe about Humanity
I believe that humanity is created in the image of God but willfully and voluntarily chose to sin by disobeying Him. As a result of this disobedience, all humanity is now inherently sinful, lost and completely separated from God. And it is only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit that salvation and spiritual life can be obtained.
What I Believe about Salvation
I believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation for all who believe. All who confess Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior are justified solely by His work on the cross and are saved only by grace through faith in Him, not by any human merit or works.
What I Believe about the Church
I believe that the purposes of the Church are to worship God; to nurture believers; to be united in Christ; to demonstrate God's mercy; and to evangelize the world.
What I Believe about Jesus’ Return and the Final Judgment
I believe Christ will personally return to the Earth in bodily and visible form and that his imminent return will be sudden. I believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead and a final judgment of both believers and unbelievers at which Jesus Christ will be judge. After this final judgment, believers will enjoy everlasting life in the presence of God while at the same time; unbelievers will be subjected to everlasting conscious punishment in hell.

2 Peter 3:10
2 Corinthians 5:10
